APN Issues 2011 Atlanta Council Member Scorecards
(APN) ATLANTA — Following several important, split votes by the City Council of Atlanta in late 2010 and so far in 2011, Atlanta Progressive News has issued a revised Atlanta Council Member Scorecard for 2011.
The Scorecard took into account a total of sixteen votes and other actions by Council Members, going back as early as 2003.
For each vote or other action, APN assigned a position which was favorable, and a position which is unfavorable. APN reviewed vote records and other documents, including APN’s news archive, to determine each Council Member’s respective position.
Council Members’ scores were averaged based only on votes or other actions they actually took; if a Council Member was absent for a particular vote, that vote was not included in their average. However, in a few cases, APN was able to determine the Council Member’s position from a Committee vote even if they were absent in Full Council; in these cases a special note is provided.
First, the actual scores are presented below from highest to lowest. These are followed by a listing of all sixteen votes or other actions, and each Council Members’ position.
A spreadsheet of the votes and scores, by Council Member, is available as a public Google Document here: http://bit.ly/mQ3GLF
