Qualifying in local races ended today and the big list is available online.

As of right now, it looks like several candidates dropped out of the Mayoral race in addition to Glenn Thomas.  Left in the race are Borders, Brownlowe, Norwood, Reed, Spikes, and–new candidate–Kyle Keyser.

Council Post at large 1- Looks like not qualifying include Tonta Draper, Neetta Black-Heart, and Erik Underwood.  Still in the race: Dwanda, MJB, Chris Vaughn, and Adam.

District 9- Perhaps Felicia Moore will run unopposed after all.  Darryl Moore (no relation) had filled out an intent form and appeared at at least 1 campaign event, but is not on the final list.

Also apparently running unopposed- CT Martin, Natalyn Archibong, Howard Shook, Carla Smith (unfortunately), and Kwanza Hall (unfortunately).

Jim Maddox’s seat–He’s retiring as reported here on this blog first.  A mad free-for-all to replace him including 9 candidates.

Joyce Sheperd-has two opponents.

Ivory Young- has two opponents, including Kendall Richardson, HIV activist.

Clair Muller- two candidates to replace her.

Cleta Winslow- three opponents, including Lashawn Hoffman, community activist.

District 6- All 6 candidates who had said they were running have indeed qualified.

Post 3 at large- Lamar Willis being challenged by Shelitha Robertson.

Council President- Muller, Mitchell, and Dave Walker have all qualified.
