A city-wide business coalition called Committee For a Better Atlanta released its candidate scores for the Atlanta mayoral, Atlanta City Council president, and city council contests on Tuesday.

The scores are based on a number of criteria: vision, qualifications/experience, ability to implement initiatives, managing government, public safety, economic development, mobility, and infrastructure.

Atlanta City Council President Lisa Borders finished ahead of all mayoral contenders with a 95 but former State Sen. Kasim Reed came in a close second with 93.

Behind them were Councilmember Mary Norwood at 86, Atlanta Attorney Jesse Spikes at 81, and Peter Brownlowe at 30. Activist Kyle Keyser did not participate.

A score of 88-100 is excellent; 79-87 is well-qualified; 70-78 is average; and below 70 is unqualified.

In the council president race, Councilmembers Ceasar Mitchell and Clair Muller tied at 92. Dave Walker did not participate. Likewise in the Post 2 At-Large race, Amir Farokhi and Aaron Watson tied at 91 with Weslee Knapp closely behind at 86.

The committee favored each council incumbents running unopposed as well as those incumbents facing challengers. See all the scores here.
