Georgia Legislators Back Reed for Mayor
Former State Sen. Kasim Reed (D-Atlanta), a 2009 candidate for Atlanta mayor, received the endorsement of several former colleagues from the Georgia General Assembly during a press conference Thursday.
Here is a list of the six senators and six representatives who were present at the state capital:
- Sen. Horacena Tate, Chairwoman of the Atlanta-Fulton County Senate Delegation
- Sen. Nan Orrock
- Sen. Vincent Fort
- Sen. David Adelman
- Sen. Valencia Seay
- Sen. Robert Brown
- Rep. Kathy Ashe
- Rep. Roger Bruce, Chairman of the Atlanta-Fulton County House Delegation
- Rep. Rashad Taylor
- Rep. Robbin Shipp
- Rep. Rahn Mayo
- Rep. Karla Drenner
“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of my fellow colleagues from the state House and Senate,” Reed said in a statement. “As Mayor, I will continue to build on my 11 year record of delivering results at the Georgia Assembly for the people of Atlanta and improving the lives of every Atlantan.”
