Atlanta, GA (June 13, 2011). The Atlanta Branch of the NAACP will sponsor a rally in support of city workers and their appeal to be heard relative to the city’s pension plan dispute.
The Wednesday, June 15th rally will be held at noon on the Mitchell Street side of Atlanta City Hall. Speakers will include representatives from the workers union, Senator Vincent Fort, State NAACP President Dubose, and others.
“At issue is the proposed pension plan being pushed by the mayor. City workers feel that the plan is not employee-friendly and they seem to want to support an alternative plan offered by the employees and City Councilperson Felecia Moore,” said Reverend R. L. White, president of the Atlanta Branch.
