Three aerospace companies announced Monday the launch of Georgia-based projects that will bring jobs and investment to the state.

Star Navigation Systems Group Ltd. will establish its U.S. headquarters in Atlanta. Its $1 million investment is expected to create up to 20 jobs over the next three years.

Zodiac Services Americas LLC is expanding its College Park location, adding up to 26 jobs by the end of 2010 to its current 120-member Georgia workforce. Also, Atlanta-based Jetaire Group, an industry leader in complete avionics and electrical systems solutions, has completed its first sale of an innovative product that can keep auxiliary aircraft fuel tanks from igniting.

“Each of these three announcements illustrate a key aspect of our economic development strategy – location of a new U.S. headquarters in Georgia, an existing company expanding its current workforce, and an Atlanta-based business selling its products to overseas customers,” Gov. Sonny Perdue said in a statement.

Perdue led a 37-member delegation to the Dubai Airshow to tout Georgia’s aerospace industry this week. In aviation industry employment, Georgia ranks number eight among U.S. states, with over 80,000 employees in more than 500 operations.

The state is home to over 500 aerospace firms and is the most productive aerospace state in the country, creating $135,437 in wealth for every aerospace worker in Georgia.

“The Dubai Airshow is the largest aviation event in the world’s fastest-growing region, and a prime opportunity for Georgia to showcase the top-notch advantages that have helped global aerospace companies flourish here,” Perdue said last week. “Our logistics and workforce supply chains for this sector are among the best in the world, and part of the reason we’ve targeted aerospace as a strategic growth industry for the state.”
