Stimulus Funds for MARTA Buses
MARTA is set to receive $55.4 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds, Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood announced Thursday.
The agency will use the funds to purchase 18 40-foot buses, perform preventative maintenance, and pay for other unspecified improvements at rail stations.
MARTA is already set to receive $685,000 in ARRA funds to pay for two new bomb detecting dog teams for three years.
