Daryl Graham, a spokesman for the GA NAACP, has withdrawn from the Post 2 at large race.  Remaining in that race: Amir Farokhi, Aaron Waton formerly of AHA Board of Commissioners, and Weslee Knapp.

Daryl had entered the race early, but hasn’t been seen campaigning very hard.  It was clear he had money troubles, and I had predicted this would happen.  Graham was the only candidate who possibly could’ve been more progressive than Farokhi in this race.

After careful consideration and much thought, I’ve decided to end my candidacy for Atlanta City Council Post 2 At-Large.
The individuals who will serve on the Atlanta City Council for the next four years will play a vital role in either moving our city forward toward new heights, or keeping the city stagnant with increased crime and reduced revenues. It is crucial that the right people are elected to serve Atlanta during these challenging times in our city.
While I believe I am well qualified and positioned to represent the entire city as an at-large councilperson, I’ve concluded that I can be of greater service to the city that I love and it’s wonderful constituents, by continuing to serve as a civic & community leader in a non-elected capacity.
Although I’ve removed myself as a candidate for office, I will always be a voice for an efficient, responsive, and well run city government.
While I’ve spoken with my three former opponents and informed them of my decision, I have not yet made an endorsement for the Post 2 At-Large seat.
I want to conclude by thanking the countless individuals from all over the city who offered me their unwavering support and encouragement during our campaign.
