Seminar: What’s Happening in Iran?

facebooktwittergoogle_pluslinkedinmailfacebooktwittergoogle_pluslinkedinmail

If you’d like a better understanding of what’s happening in Iran, this seminar organized by local Iranian students looks promising.  In addition to a video message from Noam Chomsky, live speakers include Juan Cole, one of (if not THE) leading American experts on the Middle East, a frequent guest on Democracy Now! and occasionally (as this week) on NPR.  Notice that pre-registration is required. — bg

Please join us Saturday, August 29 for what promises to be an amazingly informative and stimulating daylong seminar on the recent Iranian elections and the aftermath, featuring a number of distinguished human rights advocates and thinkers, including Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi, Professor Hamid Dabshi of Columbia University, and Professor Juan Cole of the University of Michigan.  This seminar is organized by a group of Iranian students attending various Georgia universities and hosted by the Emory University School of Law.
