Event: Top Officials to Call for Immigration Reform
Religious, law enforcement, and elected officials will hold a press conference Tuesday to speak on the need for immigration reform.
The National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) passed a resolution at their national conference in July calling for federal action on immigration reform.
The event will start at 2:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center 449 Auburn Avenue NE Atlanta, Ga.
Speakers include Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.); Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington; Most Rev. Wilton Gregory, Archbishop of the Diocese of Atlanta; Jiles Ship, 2nd Vice President of NOBLE and Administrator of Investigations for the Office of the N.J. Attorney General; and Chief Art Venegas, retired chief of police, Sacramento, Calif. and Director of the Law Enforcement Engagement Initiative.
