Events: Mayoral Debate Season Heats Up
Atlanta is 84 days from Election Day (November 3) and there are several key mayoral debates coming up that are worth your attention.
The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African-American Culture and History along with the Atlanta Chapter of the National Action Network are co-hosting a debate on Thursday August 6 at 7 p.m. (Heritage Education Center Auditorium, 4th Floor, 101 Auburn Ave. NE).
Former Atlanta City Councilman Derrick Boazman, host of 1380 WOAK’s “Too Much Truth” and CBS News Atlanta’s Michelle Marsh will moderate.
The Campaign For Atlanta will host its second mayoral forum on Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 16. Lisa Borders will speak at 3 p.m. and Kasim Reed will speak at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Mary Norwood will speak at 3 p.m. and Jesse Spikes will speak at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
All forum sessions will take place in the Cypress Room at The Carter Center (453 Freedom Parkway NE).
The Atlanta Police Foundation will hold what it says will be the first televised debate on September 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the American Cancer Society Center Auditorium (250 Williams Street NW).
This debate will focus solely on public safety and crime.
