The Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless (Peachtree and Pine) appears to be keeping up with the latest payment plan on its water bill so far. On July 15, 2009, APN obtained a fundraising pitch from the Task Force where they were seeking $8,000 which was due that day, entitled “PLEASE KEEP WATER ON FOR PEACHTREE-PINE!!!”

“TODAY IS THE DAY — $8,000 for the water by 5:00 this afternoon! If not, we have until tomorrow at 5:00 “to cure” the default that will occur today. We don’t want to go into default. The judge really doesn’t want us to have to request another injunction. We have money coming in, but no way to know how much will get here today,” Lynne Gee wrote.

Then, in the recent calendar sent out by the International Action Center Atlanta, activist Dianne Mathiowetz echoed the call for donations, this time for an upcoming $6,000 payment. “Many thanks to those who contributed desperately needed funds and water to the Task Force for the Homeless recently. Through the generosity of many people, the $8000 installment on the shelter’s water bill was paid on July 15. However, another $6000 is due in two weeks.”

According to Gee, a hearing date has been set. “At the hearing, on September 21, we expect that all these issues with the city of Atlanta will be resolved.” APN will be there with bells and whistles on.
