McKinney Takes Second Boat Trip to Gaza
ormer US Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) made a second attempt to visit Gaza as part of the Free Gaza movement. However, this time, she says the Israelis asked Cyprus not to let the ship depart. Cyprus ultimately did not let the ship depart out of concern for their safety, she says. McKinney and other international advocates were attempting to bring cement to the people of Gaza, presumably to rebuild. Last time, as reported by APN, McKinney and others attempted to bring medical supplies, but their boat was rammed by the Israeli military.
According to McKinney, this time the Obama Administration warned McKinney’s crew to take the Israeli’s statements not to sail to Gaza seriously.
