NEWS BRIEF: McKinney Mum on AJC Libel Suit Withdrawal
(APN) ATLANTA — Former US Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) withdrew her libel lawsuit against the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper, Atlanta Progressive News can confirm.
McKinney referred a question as to why she withdrew her lawsuit to her attorney, Mike Raffauf.
However, while Raffauf confirmed the lawsuit has been retracted, he said he was not authorized to explain why McKinney decided to withdraw the suit.
“It was dismissed without prejudice, meaning it can be brought again within six months. We voluntarily dismissed it. My client did not release any statements, and I don’t have anything to add at this point,” Raffauf told Atlanta Progressive News.
