Democratic Party of GA Selecting New Leadership
The Democratic Party of Georgia is currently in the process of selecting new leadership.
For the position of Chair, to replace the controversial Jane Kidd, there are two candidates: Mike Berlon and Darryl Hicks. Hicks previously worked for Fulton County government and ran for the Democratic nomination for Secretary of State in 2006; and was the Democratic nominee for Labor Commissioner in 2010.
For 1st Vice Chair, there are three candidates. Wendy Davis was the campaign manager for David Poythress in 2010 and previously led the Young Democrats of Georgia. Nikema Williams has worked as a teacher as well as for Planned Parenthood of Georgia and served on the Fulton County Democratic Party leadership. And Amy Morton is an advocate for women’s issues.
For Vice Chair for County Parties, there are three candidates. RJ Hadley ran for the Democratic nomination for US Senate in 2010. Will Fowlkes is a local party activist. Chris Sloan I’ve never heard of.
Running for Vice Chair for Candidate Recruitment, are three candidates I’ve never heard of: Lauren Benedict, Miguel Camacho, and Rep. Winfred Dukes.
