Las Margaritas, a restaurant in Atlanta’s Cheshire Bridge neighborhood owned by Oscar Valdivieso, is hosting a fiesta muy grande today for Cinco de Mayo.

According to the event’s Facebook page, the festivities will benefit Joining Hearts, a non-profit organization which supports housing for people with HIV and AIDS.  Specifically, Joining Hearts funds two Atlanta non-profits, AID Atlanta and Jerusalem House.

Bartenders at the Cinco de Mayo event will also be representing various groups who will benefit from bar proceeds, including the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, which, among others things, support a new shelter for homeless GLBTQI youth in Atlanta; the Armorettes, an Atlanta drag queen group; and the Atlanta Bucks, a rugby team.

The event will feature DJs, live entertainment, tarot readings, and more.  Bracelets from the event will be honored for discounts on admission to the Heretic bar and/or the Jungle club, both on Cheshire Bridge.
