According to the Beacon Newspaper, Shawn Hanley, Chairman of the Fulton County Republican Party is challenging the current Chair, Sue Everhart.

The Beacon reported: “He [Hanley] says the state GOP apparatus rode a sea-wave to victory without buillding a formidable or sustainable infrastructure, including worthwhile get out the vote programs, new Young Republican groups, minority outreach or volunteer recrutiment initiatives.”

“Georgia Republicans benefited from two unique circumstances this election cycle,” Hanley said. “Disgust with President Obama’s policies and the Tea Party’s grass roots movement that ignited a red firestorm. But make no mistake, as Republicans the voters have put us on probation. We have to deliver on our promises.”
