More bad news for Troy Davis, as the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has denied his request to appeal the August ruling against him from Judge William Moore in the Savannah-based Federal Court.

Previously, the Supreme Court of the US granted Davis a new trial and remanded the case back to federal court so that his innocence claims could be heard.  However, that court did not overturn the conviction against him.

“The 11th Circuit Court ruling says that he must appeal directly to the US Supreme Court and has at least 90 days to file, so fortunately we aren’t in danger of an execution date,” Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty said in a statement.
